I have a wonderfull black lab pit, so smart. i did’nt get him fixed in hopes that i could breed him with another black lab pit with the same looks. i would’nt wont anything other than maybe pick of the litter. if anyone is interested i have a pic of him on my facebook so look me up.

Hi i have a 15 week old what we think is a lab/pit mix. We rescued his this weekend from A place called Angoon here in Alaska. He wasleft outsdie for dead along with his 3 brothers and 1 sister. A friend of mine had them flow to my town and we took one. We named him Chevy. So far he is really mellow, great with my 4 year old, great with other dogs and just a loving happy dog. He is clingy to me and my fiancee he sits with but wont listen to commands from him. He is a little shy around people he doesnt know, but he is getting better already I think that will take some time as he was left outside alone for the first 15 weeks of life…with only his brothers and sisters. Some thing i need help with are…..eating, shyness, and training tips. He wont eat unless i am right there and he just macks it down then does somthing else. How can i get him to eat? The other thing is traning, him he is potty trained, knows his name and can sit along with sign language and ALMOST got him laying down….does anyone have any tips for training him more effectively and faster? I had 2 boxers before that were easy to train but they never stuck around, always ran off when not on a leash…one got hit and the other just collapsed and died on me NO MORE BOXERS FOR ME! Anyway, he is a little stubborn when training…..Please email me with any help….otherwise he is the best dog I have ever had so far!!! I am very happy with him….he sticks around doesnt run off (so far fingers crossed). I would recommened this type of dog to anyway.

PS my 2 friends have the 3 others, one has the female and my other friend has the other 2 males and they are very satisfied with them as well. Great dog! People can be so CRUEL! Makes me sick! Anyway thanks in advance!

Wow, I rescued a Lab/Pit that had been thrown out of a car! there is something wrong with people seriously that do that! My puppy, Ripley was injured and taken to the animal hosp. they did the surgery on his hip, and fostered him till a friend heard of him and knew I had been looking for a Lab. I was thrilled to get him and love him to death! He is so smart, sweet and loyal! I hadn’t had a dog since I was very young, I am so glad for him, he is my best companion! ( : jackie

We just got 2 lab/pit mixes yesterday…one is a blonde the other is black…We love them, but after the fact of bringing them home, we were warned by several people of their temperment….We have 2 small children…We may be interested in going ahead and giving them away….Email me if you’re interested….Thanks

why do u feed him with your hand?We feed them with a spoon or a fork and she doesn’t beg,she knows she is going to get some so she just lays there till we give her some.

I have a black lab/pit mix his name is Jake… He is the sweetest dog ever.. we got him after our boston terrior mix ran away after we had him for 5 years? Jake is a really hyper dog and loves attention we have another dog named miley that is a min pin and she never got along with rockie but she loves Jake I am so glad to see it. jake is always hungry and he is 10 weeks old and ways 15 pounds we got a biggen on our hands he follows my daughter everywhere she goes

Hi Brandy: It is totally normal for male dogs to squat for the first year or two while they are puppies. They start to lift their leg as they grow. And may go back to squatting when they are elderly.

I have a beige lab/pit mix and he ia 6 mnths old. He is wonderful with my 4 kids. I recently got the dog from a family that drove to another state to get the dog and then back. They had the dog since he was 2 months they kept him for 4 mnths just to say that he wasn’t aggressive enough for them and that they were going to take him to the pound. I felt so bad for him, i mean they drove to another state just to get hom an then they bought him home and now they were going to get rid of him as if it’s okay. I coudn’t let that happen so, i took him home. Lucky is the best espcially witj my 1yr old. The problem i
am having that whem i go to walk him he won’t use the trees or bushes he goes on the middle of the sidewalk i am pressed to believe that it will change,but i amunsure. He is six months old. Can anyone help me please help me. So far i have had minimal in house accidents. Thanl you for all advice and sugesstions GOD BLESS all who respond

I have a 5 month old lab/pit mix who is very vocal if I pay any attention to the other 2 dogs. Rodney will come over, sit down and move my hand with his head and ‘talk’ until I pet him. It isn’t a growl or whine but a kind of ‘yar,yar,yar’ noise. Anyone else have a pit that’s vocal like this or is it just the puppy thing. I’ve never had pits but have had lots of other puppies who never did this vocalization for attention.

OMG that is so coincidental. I have the same exact story with my lab/pit Jackie. Below zero weather in mid January. Just sitting on my porch. Great dog, just gotta watch for the temper with other dogs. Still working on it.

i too have a lab pitbull mix an have had one before but she got put down.thay are truely a good dog thay love the kids in the family an everybody that comes around so far.he sleeps right next to me an when i try to move him he wont go any where.he is one of the best dogs i have ever had

I too have a black lab/pit bull mix.Hes seven weeks old and about the cutest thing youve ever seen.I was kind of worried about the pit bull part of him but the mother who is a pit seemed really well natured so i gave it a shot.Hes a little nippy but really super smart.Its only been a week and he uses his paper about 70 percent of the time.I really hope hell get along well with my 4 kids in the long run . I found this website very reassuring.thanks

I found my black lab/pit mix when she was six weeks old, abandoned and whining at a door in my neighborhood. She didn’t even have her fangs all the way in yet. I already had a small dog at home and they grew up together and ate together no problem, until Naga (my black lab/pit mix) got bigger than Azurl (my schnauzer/wire hair/whatever else mix). She started getting aggressive with the food, so I started putting the food bowl down and letting her start to eat, then taking it away. If she snarled at me or growled i would give her a gentle smack on the nose with a stern “no!” then put her food bowl back down, let Azurl eat, and hold her away from it and make her sit and watch for about thirty seconds. Took about three days to get her to stop nipping at her.

I just adopted a black lab pit mix yesterday from the APL. Her name is Maggie and she is about 2 years old. I’m having problems with her being aggressive towards my fiance’s dog. She is only aggressive when the dog gets in her face when eating or when someone is petting her and the dog comes over. She bit her snout twice. They play well together for the most part but my fiance is worried for his dog. Any advice?

i have a 2 year old black lab/pit mix named loki

and the problem is he is scared of everything to the point of aggression. anytime anyone comes over i have to put him in a cage. and i know its not the energy i put off because everyone that comes over to my house im pretty sure of and trust

and whats worse is my fiance moved in with me and he instantly liked her but when we went to pick up her dog zues a few days later they act agressivly towards each other we tried all the tricks of introducing them the first time they met was around the block from my house so that they met on neuteral territory we’ve even tried walking them together regularly so now we have to switch them every hour in the cage zues is a pure bred american pit and perfectly behaved wit a flaw or 2 but no where as near as bad as loki since shes moved out to her brothers house with zues because she refuses to give up zues and i cant find an owner for loki and dont want to give him to the spca so if anyone has any tips on curbing these serious problems let me know because i dont want to get rid of loki hes been there for me for the past 2 years when i needed him the most and i dont want to lose the love of my life over a dog i dont know how to properly train thanks in advance
